Perspective

Sometimes in life all we need is a new perspective. It can be hard, but the way we tackle things in life can completely change the response. Humans are interesting creatures, we can be reasonable people in small groups, but put us together and that mob mentality can really make us irrational. This little gem is my observation on human reactions to two different emotional responses. Fear is a strong motivator and it feels like our whole lives are driven by fear or by hate. We make irresponsible or irrational decisions because we are led by fear and unable to process information through this foggy lens. Letting go of fear allows people to think things through properly and make sound decisions. Hope is just as strong as fear. With hope we push boundaries too, but our efforts are driven by a more benevolent force. I am no expert. The poem below is a few thoughts I had about the fear or the hope that drives us.

Perspective

Hope blossoms
Delicate petals
Reaching up toward the sun
Hidden inside
Sweet nectar
Filling the bellies of busy bees
Joy spreads
All find peace

Fear consumes
Flesh eating virus
Rotting away natural protection
Perilous position
Raw, exposed
Allowing new attacks
Panic multiplies
All filled with dread

Choose your life
Make it what you will
Live it or it will live you
