Gratitude

Photo taken by me at a campground outside of Yellowstone

My son’s school has a theme of Joy and Laughter this year and the principal gave a poignant speech at the beginning of the year about having gratitude. She spoke about gratitude leading to joy.

This got me thinking about my life. I am so grateful for my family, my new friends and the old one’s that have stood by me through differences. I am grateful for my son’s school. He is so happy and flourishing in a time of great difficulty. I am grateful for my husband who supports me in everything I want to do. This adventure in becoming an author was not planned when we got married, but he accepts me for who I am and wants my happiness. There is so much in my life to be grateful for and when life gets me down, I remind myself how many wonderful blessings I have in my life.

The most important discovery I made was the importance of people. More joy and laughter surround me when I have loved ones to share it with. Here’s hoping you are able to discern the people in your life that fill you with joy. Have gratitude and joy will follow.
