Strange Lights

Taken from my back deck

February 23, 2022, I was letting my dog outside to go to the bathroom and noticed some strange lights. My cell phone took a blurry image, but what I saw was more fantastic than this picture shows. There was about twenty beams of light rising straight out of the horizon and pointing straight up to the heavens. My husband looked it up and says it is something called light pillars. This natural phenomenon only occurs when it is extremely cold. There are tiny ice crystals floating in the sky. Light from any source reflects off of the tiny crystals and the appearance is a pillar of light. It was beautiful and awe-inspiring. Below is the poem inspired by this sight.

Who is He?

A heavenly light
Take away fright
A sign, a mark
No longer dark

Lightness invades
Darkness fades
Stretching up
Awakening abrupt

Truth revealed
No longer sealed
All can see
Who is He?
